Lost Coverage?
If your Indiana Medicaid ended, it helps to know why — so you can fix it or find another option fast.
Common Reasons Coverage Ends
- Missed renewal: You did not respond to the renewal notice in time
- Income change: Your income went above the limit
- POWER account: (HIP members) You stopped making contributions
- Left Indiana: You moved out of state
- Address change: FSSA could not reach you
- Data mismatch: FSSA’s records did not match other sources
Call FSSA First
Call 800-403-0864 and ask why your coverage ended. Sometimes it is a fixable error. If your case was closed in error, FSSA can often reinstate coverage back to the date it ended.
Act quickly — the sooner you call, the more options you have.
If You Still Qualify — Reapply
If your situation has not changed and you still meet the income limits, reapply today. There is no penalty for reapplying.
If You No Longer Qualify
If your income is now above the Medicaid limit, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to get a Marketplace plan through healthcare.gov. Losing Medicaid counts as a qualifying life event. You typically have 60 days to enroll.
