Using Coverage

Who Accepts?

Not every doctor accepts Indiana Medicaid. The easiest way to find one is through your health plan’s provider directory.

Use Your MCO’s Provider Directory

Your Medicaid health plan (MCO) has an online list of in-network doctors, dentists, specialists, and pharmacies:

You can also call the member services number on your Medicaid ID card.

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)

FQHCs are community health centers that accept Indiana Medicaid and serve everyone on a sliding-scale fee basis.

Calling Ahead

Before your appointment, confirm the office:

  • Accepts Indiana Medicaid
  • Is in-network with your specific MCO
  • Is accepting new patients

Even if a doctor is listed in the directory, it is worth confirming. Lists can be out of date.

No Doctor Yet?

If you just got approved and do not yet have a primary care doctor, call your MCO. They can assign you a doctor or help you find one taking new Medicaid patients.
